Elena was a Protector and Kiera Cameron's partner in the Vancouver City Protective Services. She was in the execution chamber with Kiera when the time travel device was activated by Liber8. Elena was among those who were transported, but the time travel device that hit her sent her back to 1975.
Season 1[]
Elena was a friend and partner to Kiera Cameron in 2077. Every time Kiera hesitated to follow orders, even in simulations, Elena often had to push Kiera and always had her back. On the night of the execution at the execution chamber, Kiera was reassigned to join Elena at the chamber. When the Liber8 members activated the time travel device she, along with Keira, traveled trough time with them. Because of her proximity to the device, she was sent back to 1975, almost four decades before most of the time travelers.
Season 2[]
In 2013, Alec Sadler tells Kiera that he is receiving a signal from another Protector suit like Kiera's. After finding the suit's last transmission source, Kiera finds Dan who then leads her to his mother, the aged Elena in a nursing home dying from liver failure.
In spite of her apparent Alzheimer's disease, Elena immediately recognizes Kiera and lucidly relates the story of her life after her arrival in 1975, and demanded that Kiera present Carlos Fonnegra to her so that she could judge Kiera's new partner for herself. Later on, when Kiera is forced to take Gardiner with her to visit Elena, the old woman easily deceives the CSIS agent into thinking she is senile. After Kiera's covert departure, however, Elena drops the ruse and tells Gardiner she knows he wants to the truth about Escher. Gardiner immediately leaves, disturbed. Elena died the next morning, surrounded by her family, and left instructions for Dan to give Kiera her copy of the novel Howard's End.
Months later, Elena's corpse, along with those of some other time travelers, is stolen by Warren, apparently a Section Six agent.[1] Visiting her grave with Carlos, Kiera notices that the ground she was buried in had been dug out and scans it with her multi-tool, finding that her body is missing.[2]
